The moment has finally arrived for you to grab a copy and cast your eyes on Clandestine Cake Club’s second recipe book ” A Year of Cake” 100 celebratory recipes due to be published on 10th September 2015. A selection of fabulous cake recipes each one reflecting a theme whether it be a festival, birthday, anniversary or any other celebration.

Lynn Hill who is the author of this book founded Clandestine Cake Club and held her first meeting in Leeds on December 11th 2010. Her main goal was to get people together over tea and cake. Five years on and she has cake clubs internationally, all run by volunteers who love cake whether a novice or an amateur it doesn’t matter as long as you enjoy cake :).

To be a member of clandestine cake club there are some rules you have to abide by, the main one being only cake is permitted. No brownies, cupcakes, pies or tarts and there is no competition just share the cakey love.

Lynn first published a book called “The Clandestine Cake Club” back in 2013, she saw the passion bakers had put into the club and gave each member the opportunity to send in recipes that could be selected to be published. Due to the popularity of the first book, Quercus Publishers provided Lynn with another opportunity for a second book to be published.

I was extremely delighted that my recipe for “Pistachio and Coconut Barfi Cake” which may I add is Eggless, was selected to be published in the latest book “A Year of Cake” alongside 62 other contributors, the feeling was amazing and nothing quite beats seeing your work in print. The process to have a recipe published is by far a long one, it took about a year before we knew if our recipe had been filtered down to the next stage but Lynn was absolutely wonderful. Every so often she would keep us updated with the progress and set backs. All the recipes in the book have been tried and tested by the Food team before making it to the final process of selection.

So if you like baking or have been inspired to bake delicious and mouth watering cakes then this book is what you need.

“I ordered the cardamom, rose and pistachio cake. It was delicious. So light and tasted just like gulabjaman. It was so fresh and presented and decorated beautifully. Highly recommend.”
